The LW Scientific® CytoPrep™ combines safe heat-fixing of cytologies with rapid slide drying for quick microscopy results.
For proper slide preparation, especially for ear cytologies or urine slides, heat-fixing cells onto slides is essential to ensure flat adhesion and optimal staining. Traditional methods with open flames like bunsen burners pose safety risks and lack temperature control, leading to inconsistent results and soot contamination. The CytoPrep™ addresses these concerns with a controlled warm surface, accommodating up to 5 or 10 slides for quick and safe heat-fixing in just 1 minute.
Once heat-fixed and stained, slides require drying before microscopy. Conventional methods like air drying or using a hair dryer are slow, inefficient, and messy. The CytoPrep™ offers a solution, drying up to 5 or 10 slides in a minute with a gentle warm air stream, all while neatly arranged in a removable, washable slide rack.
