The BeadBug™ 6 expands Benchmark’s homogenizer lineup, offering a mid-capacity option between the BeadBlaster™ 24 and the compact BeadBug™ 3. Like other Benchmark microtube homogenizers, it uses a rapid 3D shaking motion combined with beads to deliver fast, high-energy impacts that efficiently break cells, tissues, and even tough samples like bone. Most samples homogenize in under 45 seconds.
Operation is simple—set the speed, time, cycle count, and pause interval, then press start. The unit also stores the last used settings for repeated runs. Because samples are processed in sealed tubes, there is no risk of cross-contamination. After homogenizing, tubes can be briefly centrifuged and the lysate collected.
Designed for medium-throughput labs, the BeadBug 6 handles up to six 2.0 mL tubes at once, and optional adapters allow processing of two 5.0 mL tubes. A wide range of bead materials and sizes is available in both prefilled and bulk formats to match various sample types and workflows
