Description
The IKA A 11 basic is a compact batch mill that supports two distinct grinding methods. With its high-grade stainless steel beater (included), it performs impact grinding of hard, brittle, and non-elastic materials up to 6 Mohs hardness, while an optional cutting blade lets it pulverize soft, fibrous samples. Moist and gluey materials can also be processed by adding water.
The 80 ml grinding chamber is made of glass fiber-reinforced Tefcel (ETFE) with a stainless steel inlet, and it supports embrittlement of samples using liquid nitrogen directly in the chamber. For larger batches, an optional 250 ml grinding chamber is available, making the mill flexible across a wide range of analytical sample preparation tasks.
